- Franchises will now shortlist names, with the final auction pool expected around 350 players to be released next week and a maximum of 77 players, including 31 overseas, signed at the December 16 auction in Abu Dhabi.
- Cricketers from 13 countries, including Italy, entered the pool, with Inglis registering despite wedding plans, while CSK released Pathirana and holds the second-largest purse.
