The advance of the KPÖ plus for a zero round of the politicians' salaries for 2026 was rejected on Wednesday in the Landtag committee. The ÖVP submitted a counter-motion to wait for the budget negotiations. Not only the liberals, but also the SPÖ joined. ÖVP-Klubobmann Wolfgang Mayer announced, however, that "a contribution of the politics is adequately taken into account".
