BSNL Launches India’s First Indigenous SIM-Less Quantum 5G FWA in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD, TELANGANA, INDIA, JUN 18 – BSNL's Quantum 5G Fixed Wireless Access offers up to 300Mbps speeds with SIM-less technology targeting enterprises, covering 85% of Hyderabad households via existing towers, officials said.
- On June 19, 2025, BSNL introduced its homegrown SIM-free Quantum 5G internet service in Hyderabad, delivering ultra-fast broadband connectivity without voice call functionality.
- BSNL developed this service using entirely Indian-made equipment to ensure national security and to bridge internet access gaps, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities lacking fiber infrastructure.
- Preliminary trials conducted in the Ameerpet locality of Hyderabad demonstrated download speeds reaching 980 Mbps, upload speeds of 140 Mbps, and latency below 10 milliseconds, enabling seamless UHD streaming, cloud gaming, and other high-demand applications.
- Introductory plans are available at ₹999 monthly for 100 Mbps and ₹1,499 for 300 Mbps speeds, with a planned pilot expansion to take place by September 2025 in cities including Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Chandigarh, Gwalior, and Pondicherry.
