FTX founder Bankman-Fried charged with paying $40m bribe to Chinese officials
Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of cryptocurrency platform FTX, has been charged with directing $40m in bribes to one or more Chinese officials to unfreeze assets relating to his cryptocurrency business. This charge raises the number of charges Bankman-Fried faces to 13. An arrest of a fifth individual is imminent, according to the charge sheet, with prosecutors describing it as a continuing investigation.
