A Belgian court has sentenced Dutchman Jos Leijdekkers, also known as Bolle Jos, to eight years in prison for importing cocaine into the port of Antwerp. According to the judge, Leijdekkers, who is a fugitive and resurfaced in Sierra Leone earlier this year, was the mastermind behind the drug smuggling. Fifteen others were also sentenced.
Notorious Dutch drug criminal Jos Leijdekkers, alias "Bolle Jos," was convicted along with 16 others for importing a staggering 3.4 tons of cocaine into the Waaslandhaven port. They all received varying sentences. "Bolle Jos" was sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison and a €24,000 fine. He remains on the run.

Sixteen other defendants received prison terms ranging from 30 months to five years and various fines, while an eighteenth suspect was acquitted.
