La Paz, July 1 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Luis Arce described as historic the approval of the UN General Assembly's Resolution on the Wiphala, which stands for living well in harmony, balance, and complementarity with Mother Earth.

Bolivian authorities, including President Luis Arce Catacora, celebrated Monday the approval by the United Nations' (UN) General Assembly of a resolution recognizing the wiphala, a rainbow-colored, checkered emblem used by some indigenous peoples of the Andes, Amazon, Chaco, and Altiplano.

The initiative promoted by Bolivia and Venezuela was approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations, generating praise from Arce, Choquehuanca and the Foreign Ministry.The Bolivian Government welcomed the adoption by the UN General Assembly of a resolution that recognizes Wiphala as an expression of cultural values linked to Vivir Bien and harmony with Mother Earth. The proposal was jointly promoted by Bolivia and Venezuela.
Vice President David Choquehuanca published the resolution along with the message: “Jallalla la Wiphala! Jallalla la Diplomación de los Pueblos!”
