Bell Media deal allows Québécois dubbing of 'The Simpsons' to continue
Season 36 will air on Noovo and stream on Crave, while 35 prior Quebec-dubbed seasons remain on Disney+, Bell Media said.
On Monday, Bell Media announced a deal with Disney Entertainment to broadcast season 36 of Les Simpson on Noovo this fall and stream on Crave.
Viewers were outraged last year when competitor Corus Entertainment decided not to renew broadcast rights, forcing francophone audiences to watch new seasons in European French instead.
An online petition garnered thousands of signatures to save the Québécois dub, which for 35 seasons featured local place names, politicians, current events, and popular expressions.
Bart Simpson and Lisa Simpson announced the return in a video on Noovo's social media, using the familiar Québécois French voices local audiences have cherished.
Fans can stream seasons one through 35 on Disney+, while season 36 remains one year behind the American version, arriving this fall on Noovo and Crave.
