- "Euro banknotes are more than a means of payment – they are one of the most tangible expressions of Europe," President Christine Lagarde said, adding designs will reinforce shared identity.
- After the public survey concludes, the ECB will select a final design, with new notes expected to enter circulation a few years following the official decision.
