DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Controversy is brewing in Becker County over a proposal to establish a gravel pit just north of Pelican Lake. Prairie Lake Investments LLC is seeking a conditional use permit to excavate gravel from a 20-acre site over a five-year span in partnership with Sonnenberg Excavating.
