Man charged with murder of 17-year-old girl
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after a 17-year-old girl was fatally stabbed and her mother seriously injured, police said.
- Gwent Police said Lainie Williams, 17-year-old, was found fatally stabbed inside a Wheatley Place, Cefn Fforest home on November 13 and arrested an 18-year-old man from Newbridge on suspicion of murder.
- Emergency services, including the Welsh Ambulance Service and Welsh Air Ambulance, responded after officers including firearms officers attended at around 7.15am following reports two people sustained serious injuries, including Rhian Stephens, 38, who remains hospitalized.
- Friends and social media users posted pink-themed tributes and an online campaign calling for justice gained traction on TikTok and Facebook, describing her as `beautiful` and from `the nicest family you could ever come across`.

- Cameron Cheng, 18, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a bladed article and will appear at Newport Magistrates' Court on Monday.
