- Aziz, a dual citizen of Pakistan and Canada, faces charges of conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and the Export Control Reform Act, which carry maximum penalties of five and 20 years in prison respectively, and he remains detained pending transfer to Minnesota where the investigation is largely based; none of the allegations have been proven in court.
