The severe water crisis is deepening in the villages of Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. With the onset of summer, hand pumps have dried up in villages like Achraur and people are forced to fetch water from 2 kilometers away. The situation is so bad that due to lack of water in the village, even the youth are not getting married. The pipelines of Jal Jeevan Mission have been laid but water is not coming from the taps.
