PURI DISTRICT, ODISHA, AUG 2 – The minor suffered over 70% burns and was transferred from AIIMS Bhubaneswar to AIIMS Delhi; police have not arrested suspects two weeks after the attack, officials said.

- Amid the investigation, Odisha police said she was intercepted by three miscreants, who abducted and set her ablaze on the banks of Bhargabi river near Bayabar village.
- Doctors at AIIMS Bhubaneswar transferred her due to critical condition after she sustained over 70 percent burn injuries and was airlifted to AIIMS Delhi on July 20.
- Odisha police claimed the investigation is in its final stage, but no arrests have been made after 15 days, and OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das demanded arrests within three days and threatened to gherao the DGP office.
