Marvel Makes Surprise 'Avengers: Endgame' Move Ahead of 'Doomsday'
The re-release will include never-before-seen footage and help launch a new premium large-format theater certification.
- On Thursday at CinemaCon, The Walt Disney Studios announced a September theatrical re-release for Endgame featuring new footage, alongside launching "Infinity Vision," a new certification for premium large format theaters.
- Infinity Vision represents a shared effort to signify auditoriums offering "the biggest, brightest and most immersive cinematic experiences," said Andrew Cripps, head of theatrical distribution for The Walt Disney Studios.
- Directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo confirmed the 3-hour-long movie will include never-before-seen footage to build momentum for the upcoming Doomsday release.
- Doomsday will not release in Imax in the U.S. due to a clash with Dune: Part Three, which secures the format for an exclusive three-week launch period.
- Audiences will be able to seek out Infinity Vision-certified screens for both the September Endgame re-release and Doomsday in December, seeing films "on the grandest possible scale, exactly as intended," Disney said.
