BREAKING: Glenn Maxwell Announces Retirement From International Cricket
The 38-year-old all-rounder leaves as a three-time world champion and one of Australia’s most influential white-ball players.
On Monday, 38-year-old Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell announced his retirement from all international cricket, ending a groundbreaking career that reshaped white-ball batting.
Known as "The Big Show," Maxwell was a modern great who helped Australia win three World Cups, including the 2015 and 2023 ODI titles and the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Across 286 matches, the all-rounder scored 7226 runs and took 136 wickets, leaving as a record-holder for the most T20I hundreds with five, level with India's Rohit Sharma.
His defining moment remains an unbeaten 201 against Afghanistan in the 2023 World Cup, where he helped Australia chase down 292 after the team collapsed to 91/7.
Maxwell had already retired from ODIs in June 2025, and former Australia captain Ricky Ponting previously suggested the all-rounder's international career was nearing its end.
