Australia’s First Two-Hour Gigawatt Battery Is Now in Operation

Australia’s largest battery, and the first to have more than two gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy storage, has advanced rapidly in its commissioning process and is now fully operational. The Collie battery, owned by Neoen Australia, now controlled by the global asset management giant Brookfield, has a capacity of 560 megawatts (MW) and 2,240 megawatt hours (MWh) in its two stages, the first of which was completed last year.
