At least 30 Palestinians were killed while trying to reach food distribution sites operated by a U.S. group

GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE, JUL 20 – At least 32 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces near aid hubs run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation amid a blockade that has left 650,000 children at risk, officials said.

  • Near Gaza Humanitarian Foundation facilities on Saturday, Israeli troops opened fire, killing at least 32 Palestinians seeking aid, according to Gaza health officials.
  • Israel’s blockade has created a critical shortage of essentials, and as of July 19 the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported 877 martyrs in aid center massacres.
  • Eyewitnesses described the gunfire as `targeted to kill`, and Akram Aker said, “They encircled us and started firing directly at us.”
  • The Israeli Defense Forces said they “fired warning shots” at what they called 'suspects', adding that the incident occurred before the aid sites opened.
  • The U.N. Human Rights Office estimates more than 870 Palestinians have been killed seeking food aid since late May, and the World Food Program has called for an immediate and sustained cease-fire.
