At least 2 dead, multiple people shot at Nevada casino in Reno with a suspect in custody
RENO, NEVADA, JUL 28 – Three people were killed and three others wounded in a shooting at the Grand Sierra Resort casino; the 26-year-old suspect was taken into custody and hospitalized in critical condition.
- On Monday, a shooting at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno left two dead and five hospitalized after reports around 7:30 a.m. outside the casino's valet area.
- With motive under investigation, police say the suspect had no known connection to the victims.
- Suspect Dakota Hawver, 26-year-old Reno resident, fired around 80 rounds with a 9mm handgun and was shot by police after a call around 7:25 a.m.
- Authorities have already urged residents to avoid the area, six officers are on administrative leave, and a candlelight vigil is scheduled Wednesday evening.
