As AI 171 probe focuses on fuel control switches, Etihad orders inspection of switches’ locking mechanism on its Boeing 787 fleet

INDIA, JUL 14 – Etihad and South Korea have ordered inspections of Boeing 787 fuel control switch locks following a crash that killed 260; FAA and Boeing maintain the switches are safe.

Other airlines and countries could also order similar checks. A report by news agency Reuters said that South Korea’s transport ministry is also preparing to order all airlines in the country that operate Boeing jets to examine fuel switches.
