Army Identifies 5 Special Operations Soldiers Killed in Black Hawk Crash in Mediterranean Sea
- Sergeant Cade M. Wolfe of Mankato was one of five soldiers killed in a military helicopter crash over the Mediterranean Sea. The helicopter, an MH-60 Blackhawk, experienced an in-flight emergency during aerial refueling training, but there are no indications of enemy actions causing the crash.
- The soldiers who died were special operations forces deployed to Cyprus. They were identified as Chief Warrant Officer Shane M. Barnes, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Stephen R. Dwyer, Staff Sgt. Tanner W. Grone, and Sgt. Cade M. Wolfe. All were stationed in Kentucky as part of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.
