Armenia called on the United Nations Security Council on Saturday to hold a meeting on the Nagorno-Karabakh crisis, after declaring that the humanitarian situation in the region was deteriorating and accusing Azerbaijan of blocking supplies to the disputed territory.

The Armenian government fears atrocities and a humanitarian disaster for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. The Security Council must now intervene.
