An unusual trip was made today by firefighters from Ostrava and the nearby village of Ludgeřovice. People reported to them that a European moose was moving around the village. As they soon learned, it was most likely a migrating individual from Poland, where the population of these Nordic animals is relatively stable. The moose will probably fall asleep and then they will have it transported.
A moose appeared in Ludgeřovice in the Opava region on Monday morning. It probably came to Bohemia from Poland, where the occurrence of this species is more common. After falling asleep, the animal was supposed to wander to Šumava, but in the end this did not happen. From the garden where she was staying, she fled into the woods.
