Visiting CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu in the Marmara Prison in Silivri, European Parliament Turkey Rapporteur Nacho Sanchez Amor said, “Ekrem always wins twice. Therefore, I think it is the right moment to remember and remind how Ekrem was able to become a mayor. Türkiye has a hope and a future in the European Union (EU). Türkiye’s future in the EU begins in Silivri Prison.”

European Parliament (EP) Turkey Rapporteur Nacho Sanchez Amor met with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan in Saraçhane. During the meeting, Amor said, “I don’t know when, but I am sure Ekrem İmamoğlu will return and continue the hope process he started, and the political change process.”

CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz argued that a great public loss occurred in the real estate purchase of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality during the AKP administration, and said, "The reason Ekrem İmamoğlu is under arrest is because he pursued this and similar profiteering files."
