Ališauskas on criticism of the Pope regarding Ukraine: he was definitely not a supporter of Putin

As the world prepares for Pope Francis' funeral and ponders who will become the new pope, criticism continues to mount over the pontiff's stance on Russia's war in Ukraine. "It may be a naive and idealistic view, but it was certainly not a desire for Ukraine to capitulate," says Vytautas Ališauskas, former ambassador to the Holy See and professor at Vilnius University.
