Red Fort Blast Case: Al Falah Founder Acquired Land in South Delhi by Forging Documents in Names of 5 Deceased Ex-Owners, Probe Reveals
Jawad Ahmad Siddiqui allegedly used forged documents of five deceased landowners to transfer land worth Rs 75 lakh to his Tarbia Education Foundation, Enforcement Directorate said.
- The Enforcement Directorate says Jawad Ahmad Siddiqui acquired Madanpur Khadar land using forged documents, and the ED arrested him under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
- A General Power of Attorney dated January 7, 2004 used signatures of five deceased landowners, and a registered sale deed was prepared on June 27, 2013, the ED found.
- Documents show Vinod Kumar sold land worth Rs 75 lakh to the Tarbia Education Foundation, while an ED official cited recovered evidence of Siddiqui effectively controlling the trust.
- Al-Falah University, based in Faridabad, has come under scanner after three doctors who worked there were involved in the November 10 blast near the Red Fort metro station that claimed 15 lives.
- ED officials say the Tarbia Education Foundation was the `ultimate beneficiary` of the fraudulent transfer and cite recovered cash, diversion of funds, and layering as evidence while probing trustees and promoters.
