Populations in the poorest countries were four times more exposed than those in developed countries to air pollution caused by forest and vegetation fires between 2010 and 2019, according to a study published on Wednesday, September 21 in the scientific journal Nature. Central Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America are the most vulnerable areas.
