- Previously, Sahu served as Jharkhand BJP General Secretary, joined Rajya Sabha in 2022, and was proposed by senior leaders including Marandi, former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, and Union Minister Annapurna Devi.
- The state-level tally shows that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led INDIA bloc won 56 seats while the NDA secured 24, leaving BJP with 21 seats, shaping stakes for the new leadership.
- Separately, 21 nominations were filed for National Council member posts from Jharkhand, including prominent leaders, during the 12 pm–2 pm nomination window before scrutiny and withdrawal.
