- On Friday, the Nigeria Democratic Congress demanded the immediate removal of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to allow investigation into his alleged links to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council .
- Prince Mathew Adeniyi Adeyemi claims he secured his appointment as Director-General of the PFIPC by paying Gbajabiamila N600 million , while the Presidency publicly disclaimed the agency's existence despite it receiving 2026 budgetary allocations.
- Allegations include demands for 48% of the agency's takeoff grant totaling 27,395,510,136, and N400 million paid toward a N600 million bribe for the appointment, with 200 million outstanding.
- Compounding the situation, intermediary Babatunde Tanimola died in a hotel fire in Utako, Abuja, on October 22, 2025, and Adeyemi reported an assassination attempt along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway on September 7, 2025.
- The NDC declared that "mere defensive press releases" from the Presidency are unacceptable, urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to launch a full-scale investigation into the alleged sale of public appointments.
