- Amid persistent power shortages in Bihar, the project represents the largest power sector investment in Bihar in recent years, boosting energy security.
- Leveraging ultra-supercritical technology, the plant features a 3×800 MW capacity and offers a tariff of ₹6.075 per kWh under the DBFOO model.
- Through the award, Bihar moves closer to self-sufficiency, with power supplied to North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. for 25 years.
- Facing regulatory steps, the project is progressing as environmental clearance, land acquisition, and approvals are underway, with LoA and PSA expected to be signed shortly.
