Holocaust memorial day: Auschwitz survivors lead commemorations
- The 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by Soviet troops is being marked with a ceremony attended by survivors, including 86-year-old Tova Friedman, who was liberated at age 6 on Jan. 27, 1945.
- Ronald Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress, and other world leaders are expected to join the survivors at Birkenau, the site of mass murders.
