The first court was confirmed. The owner of a tourist catamaran was convicted by the Marseille maritime court for destroying posidonia, after his sailboat laid anchor in a marine herbarium inside the national park of the Calanques (Bouches-du-Rhône).
Although Posidonia herbariums have been protected for nearly 40 years, their degradation has continued to increase over the decades. However, the numerous policies taken for their preservation and judicial convictions have led to awareness as well as a slight recolonization.
