A pavement in Hammersmith has been transformed into a rain garden to help protect homes and businesses against flooding.

Carefully selected plants that thrive in wet conditions have been installed along busy King Street. The new green space is part-funded by the council’s £5million Green Investment scheme. Rain gardens allow water to absorb naturally into the ground while providing a home to wildlife, unlike concrete pavement.
