85 Editors-in-Chief From 22 Countries Jointly Ask for Help From the EU Due to the Law on the Prohibition of Publishing

The heads of the British Guardian and the Austrian ORF have also joined the solidarity action, calling on their governments and the EU to do everything they can to prevent the law.

85 editors-in-chief from 22 countries quickly signed the international solidarity declaration, which was launched because they believe that Fidesz is effectively outlawing the free press - and, more broadly, democratic public debate.

The leaders of major media outlets such as the British Guardian, the Austrian ORF, and the Polish Gazeta Wyborcza also signed the statement.
