$800M Janicki Industries Facility Breaks Ground in Great Falls
The plant is expected to add about 2,000 jobs over the next decade as the company expands its manufacturing footprint.
On Friday, Janicki Industries broke ground on an $800 million manufacturing campus at AgriTech Park in Great Falls, with the 1.6 million-square-foot facility expected to create more than 2,000 jobs over the next decade.
This investment draws comparisons to the historic Anaconda Copper Company, which once processed a third of the world's copper supply. Great Falls Historian Ken Robison notes the city has long sought to replace industrial jobs lost decades ago.
Great Falls Development Authority President Brett Doney called it "the biggest investment in Great Falls in Cascade County, not from a financial standpoint, from a jobs standpoint and a wages standpoint." Mayor Cory Reeves emphasized the development provides local youth opportunities to stay.
Montana Governor Greg Gianforte attended the ceremony, stating "Montana is open for business" and praising local partners for attracting the employer among competing states. Gianforte highlighted the expansion's significance for the Electric City.
Construction on the first phase continues through 2027, positioning the facility as part of Janicki's broader expansion beyond existing operations in Washington and Utah. The campus marks the company's largest investment to date.
