Navy helicopter makes emergency landing in Arabian Sea, one crew missing
Three of the four crew members were rescued in stable condition as Navy assets search for the missing aircrewman.
A U.S. Navy MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter was forced to make an emergency water landing in the Arabian Sea early Wednesday morning.
Three of the aircraft's four crew members were successfully rescued from the water and remain in stable condition aboard the nearby aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush.
An active military search-and-rescue operation utilizing regional naval assets is currently underway to locate the fourth crew member, who remains missing.
Central Command officials stated that there is currently no indication the emergency landing was caused by hostile enemy fire or military action.
An official military investigation has been launched to determine the exact mechanical or environmental cause behind the helicopter going down.
