- On December 13, 2025, John Cena will face Gunther in his final WWE match at Saturday Night's Main Event at the Capital One Center in Washington, D.C.
- Cena announced last year that 2025 would be his final year and has repeatedly said '100% done', while a 16-person tournament produced Gunther as the opponent.
- Reports indicate the match may have no time limit and Gunther, who has never wrestled Cena, has talked tough; the card also features WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs NXT Champion Oba Femi.
- The farewell is drawing a parade of returning legends, with Hall of Famer Trish Stratus attending and Jesse 'The Body' Ventura joining the Peacock broadcast; Linda and possibly Stephanie McMahon may also attend.
