In a survey on "Trump tariffs" conducted by Tokyo Shoko Research, 33.3% of companies in Okinawa Prefecture responded that the tariffs would have a negative impact on their business performance. This was 19 percentage points lower than the national average of 52.4%. This is thought to be because the prefecture has a small manufacturing industry and is less dependent on direct exports to the United States.
