2 men arrested after incendiary device found under news media vehicle in Utah, authorities say

Two men face multiple charges including threat of terrorism after an incendiary device was found lit but failed to detonate under a news vehicle, prompting a major FBI investigation.

  • On Sunday, federal agents arrested Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, in Magna after an incendiary device was found under a FOX 13 News vehicle on Friday, Sept. 12, and had been lit but failed to detonate.
  • The FBI took control after the device under a vehicle near an occupied building posed a public safety threat and served a warrant at a residence near 2700 South and 8500 West in Magna on Saturday.
  • During the warrant search, agents found mock/hoax weapons, explosive components, firearms, illegal narcotics, and suspects Adeeb Nasir and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir now face charges including Threat of Terrorism.
  • Bomb squads evacuated neighboring homes and safely neutralized the device, while FOX 13 News said suspects were booked into Salt Lake County Jail and held without bail as prosecutors review charges.
  • Investigators say the probe is ongoing and federal prosecutors will review evidence for potential additional charges as coverage intensified after Charlie Kirk's assassination near Utah Valley University.
