INDIANAPOLIS — A fire was accidentally set off in a kitchen in the Spanish Oaks Apartments on Indy’s far east side Saturday evening. The Indianapolis Fire Department says the fire started around 5:45 p.m. on Govenours Court, when someone left food unattended on a stove, which damaged four apartment units and displaced 11 adults and three children.
