1 injured in shooting near short-term rental properties on near east side of Indianapolis
Investigators are working to identify the shooter after bullets hit a nearby home, a business and two vehicles, police said.
- On Sunday, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of Harrison Street, finding a man with gunshot wounds to his leg in stable condition.
- Neighbors reported that the short-term rental property has experienced escalating disturbances this year, with police previously responding to the same location on June 6 for reckless use of a handgun.
- Separately, South Bend Police Department officers responded late Saturday to a shooting in the 1300 block of Bissell Street, where they found three victims with gunshot wounds.
- Police identified the deceased victims as 20-year-old Alaya Maez and 18-year-old Javon Hopper, while 22-year-old Geimisha Broadnax remains hospitalized in critical condition.
