Zuffa Boxing adds Conor Benn to its growing list of stars on roster
On Friday, Zuffa Boxing announced on social media that British welterweight Conor Benn , 29, ended his decade-long Matchroom relationship to join the promotion.
Zuffa Boxing expanded after debuting its first of three fight cards on Jan. 23 in Las Vegas, following last month's signing of Jai Opetaia, as part of rapid roster growth.
No contract details were released, though Sports Illustrated reported a one-fight, eight-figure deal, and Benn thanked Matchroom in a social media letter, while White praised Benn as 'an absolute beast and a superstar'.
The move positions Conor Benn for the inaugural Zuffa Boxing Middleweight World Championship and likely removes all three prior options, bolstering Zuffa Boxing's international profile.
Amid a public feud between Dana White and Eddie Hearn, Benn plans future matchups with Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, and Shakur Stevenson after signing with Zuffa Boxing.
