ZIM vs SA 1st Test: South Africa to test new players against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo
South Africa tasted long-awaited success with victory in the WTC final against Australia earlier this month, but there will be several new faces for the first Test against Zimbabwe that starts in Bulawayo on Saturday.
Matthew Breetzke and Tony de Zorzi will be the Proteas' opening batsmen for the first cricket test against Zimbabwe, which begins in Bulawayo on Saturday morning.


Three debutants on teamsheet as South Africa announce playing XI for 1st Test against Zimbabwe
The playing eleven of the defending ICC World Test Championship (WTC) will feature three debutants, Dewald Brevis, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and pacer Codi Yusuf. The match is the first of Proteas' WTC 2025-27 cycle and will start from Saturday onwards. Following an injury to full-time skipper Temba Bavuma, Maharaj was named as the skipper of the South Africa side for the tour. Bavuma had sustained a hamstring strain during the World Test Championship
