Zelensky in Ireland: Ukraine President to address parliament during visit
- Landing shortly before 11pm, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Olena Zelenska were greeted at Dublin Airport by Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Thomas Byrne, and ambassadors Larysa Gerasko and Jonathan Conlon, with Andrii Sybiha in the delegation.
- Following talks in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit comes as the US administration tries to broker a ceasefire underpinned by a peace plan.
- He will pay a courtesy call to Ireland's newly-inaugurated president Catherine Connolly at Áras an Uachtaráin and launch the Ireland-Ukraine Economic Forum with Simon Harris, Tanaiste and Irish deputy premier.
- The Irish Government announced additional non-lethal aid, raising this year's total to 200 million euro, while Micheál Martin, Taoiseach, called the visit a "critical time" to support Ukraine and accelerate EU membership.
- The visit comes days after the resignation and a Friday anti-corruption search of Andrii Yermak, and Ireland has welcomed over 120,000 Ukrainians seeking safe haven.
