Chinese EV Maker Zeekr Plugs in to Hybrids to Tap Into Soaring Sales
CHINA, JUL 9 – Zeekr’s SEA-S platform supports a 380 km electric range in the 9X hybrid SUV, aiming to reduce EV range anxiety and expand its market amid rising competition in China.
- Zeekr debuted its first hybrid SUV, the Zeekr 9X, on April 23 at the Shanghai auto show, showcasing new hybrid technology.
- Zeekr developed the 9X using the SEA-S platform, combining BEV and PHEV advantages to improve performance, efficiency, and driving experience.
- The 9X features a 2.0-liter turbo engine, tri-silicon carbide motors with a peak output of 1,030 kW, and supports charging from 10% to 80% in just over 10 minutes.
- Zeekr claims the 9X's hybrid system sets new standards in charging speed, acceleration, and vibration control while enabling advanced L3 autonomous driving with its G-Pilot H9 system.
- Zeekr plans to begin pre-sales of the 9X at the end of August with a starting price around RMB 600,000, as it seeks to attract more buyers in China’s increasingly competitive electric vehicle market.
