ECB Finds Crypto Payment Acceptance Below 1% in Euro Area
An ECB survey of 8,205 euro area companies found just 0.2% of online sellers accept crypto, as while acceptance at physical points of sale remained below 1% and mobile payment adoption jumped sharply.
Two thirds of euro area companies now accept mobile phone payments, twice as many as in 2024.
A survey by the European Central Bank (ECB) showed that almost 92 percent of companies in the eurozone, mainly retail, restaurants and hotels, accept cash payments, but the trend of cashless, digital payments is increasing, and the eurozone bank from Frankfurt assessed that this is not a positive trend.
