Zacharia makes first statement since leaving job as White House press secretary
Her brief tenure drew criticism after a 14-minute briefing and scrutiny over her resume and legal credentials.
On Friday, The White House announced Press Secretary Katie Zacharia is "transitioning out" after just five days, marking the shortest tenure in the position's history.
A 14-minute press conference Tuesday sparked scrutiny when Zacharia took only three questions, while Campaign for Accountability filed a complaint with State Bar of California over her lawyer claims.
The Wall Street Journal reported Zacharia failed the bar exam. In an interview with Real America Voice, Zacharia claimed she "misheard" the question and deemed results "inconsequential."
President Donald Trump advised Zacharia to "reconsider" the position, claiming the press treated her "unfairly" and "nastily," telling her, "Welcome to the world of Trump."
Zacharia praised Trump in a social media post, writing, "It was an honor to work for him." Anthony Scaramucci, who served 11 days as communications director, remarked on social media that records are made to be broken.
