Anglers can wet a hook in most of Alabama’s waters at no cost on June 7 during the state’s Free Fishing Day.No fishing license will be required on most fresh and salt waters. The state’s Public Fishing Lakes will still require a fishing permit, and fishing in a private pond will still require the pond owner’s permission. Some piers may also charge fees or permits.
