YOFC Reduces GHG Emissions Intensity by 13% in 2025, New ESG Report Reveals
The optical fiber maker said third-party verified tracking helped it lower energy use intensity 4.54% and water use intensity 28.54%.
Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company reduced greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 13.12% in 2025, cutting total carbon emissions by 86,333 tonnes.
Published last week, the 2025 Sustainability Report shows a 4.54% reduction in energy consumption intensity and a 28.54% drop in water consumption intensity, totaling 159,279 MWh of green electricity.
YOFC led or contributed to 42 industry standards in 2025; the company's hollow-core optical fiber achieved minimum attenuation of 0.04 dB/km, enabling lower-cost infrastructure for network operators.
"Building that infrastructure sustainably is a strategic core," said Dan Zhuang, executive director and president of YOFC; all suppliers signed the External Party Code of Conduct at 100% compliance.
YOFC targets a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 2028 and carbon neutrality by 2055, while maintaining top-ranking market share across more than 100 countries and regions.
