I Can Finally Make the UI of My Series X Bright Pink After the New Xbox Dashboard Update
The update lets users disable Quick Resume per game and customize dashboard colors, with Home Groups expanded from two to 10, initially for Xbox Insiders.
- Beginning March 18, 2026, the Xbox Insider beta program rolled out a per-game Quick Resume toggle, as Microsoft announced, allowing users to manage resume behavior per title.
- Community pressure and usability problems led Microsoft's recently-installed gaming boss Asha Sharma to start work two weeks ago on a per-game Quick Resume toggle, requested since 2021.
- Using the game tile 'More options' menu, select Manage Quick Resume to toggle Quick Resume for specific games, suspending multiple titles in the background on Xbox Series X|S.
- Players will be able to force affected titles to boot fresh, which should reduce Quick Resume issues for live-service and online games, and the option will appear soon after broader testing with Xbox Insiders.
- Dashboard customization now lets players set colors across a broad spectrum, expands Home groups from two to 10, and adds Xbox profile badges to the Guide, pleasing Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb.
