Wyoming takes steps towards reopening the Green River Tunnel with two awarded emergency repair contracts

The Wyoming Transportation Commission has awarded two emergency repair contracts to two different companies as the state works on reopening the Green River Tunnel.  The two emergency bids were awarded during a special meeting via Zoom on May 27th. GREEN RIVER, Wyo. – Earlier this year, tragedy struck in the Green River Tunnel in Wyoming. A fiery pileup in the tunnel on Interstate 80 killed three and caused numerous serious injuries. The crash involved an unknown number of trucks and other vehicles inside and outside the tunnel at Green River.
